Smart Doors 2018: opening opportunities, closing deals

Smart Doors, the International Fair for Doors and Automatisms, premieres today, February 21st, its first edition at Ifema Feria de Madrid, an exhibition where, during the next 3 days, the latest advancements and innovations within this fast-growing industry will be displayed.

More than 40 international brands will present their most cutting-edge solutions for commercial and industrial doors, such as sliding doors, swing doors, fast roll-up doors.. as well as hundreds of new proposals for automation, components, fittings and endless customization options on their different lines of products.

Smart Doors 2018 will revolve around key issues for the industry such as accessibility, efficiency, eco-friendly, connectivity and control systems, aspects in which more and more companies are increasingly putting their effort into.

Domotics, Safety and Sustainability: the foundations of the industry

One of this year’s edition main innovations will be home automation solutions, infrastructures capable to automate homes and large buildings to provide advantages such as security, welfare, interconnectivity and energy management.

A growing trend in the sector are the solutions for people with reduced mobility in both their homes and Horeca environments, as well as roll-up doors with a high speed of maneuver and fully hermetic automatic doors.

Everything has its place in this inaugural edition of Smart Doors 2018, from self-repairing doors to magnet attraction and repulsion mechanisms.

Besides, there will be a technical conference where current issues of high interest for industry professionals will be discussed, such as new regulations and certifications that are emerging, or penetration of new technologies that will maximize the development and innovation within the sector, such as connectivity and IoT.

An increasingly international industry

The Industrial and Commercial Doors sector bills more than 800 million annually in Spain, employing more than 50,000 people, figures that can increase exponentially thanks to the strong international nature of this fair, which will allow participating companies to close agreements with other brands, suppliers, installers and maintainers.

Wednesday, February 21st

The program will start on with the conference “Domotics, technological evolution in the building” that will have as speaker the Director of the Intelligent Architecture Master UCAM, Eduardo Suller, making a review on the situation of a market called to consolidate in the near future, as well talking about the last 25 years of evolution of the domotic systems, going through the different protocols, standards, organizations and regulations that there have been.

Another issue will be “The RED directive and its impact on the radio equipment market” hosted by Head of Area S.G. Telecommunications Inspection of the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Aid, Luis Miguel Fidalgo, in which he will inform the different companies about their obligations and requirements in order to put their products on the spanish market, based on the guidelines and changes established by the new directive 2014/53 / EU.

Thursday, February 22nd

The second day of the fair will begin with the talk “Certificate of installation company and maintainer AENOR”, offered by the Director of AENOR, Raquel Rodríguez, in order to present the particular certification of installation and maintenance system for companies.

The day will be concluded by the Chief of Industrial Safety Department of the Ministry of Industry, Jose Antonio Delgado with his talk “Safety in construction products.”

Friday, February 23rd

The talk “Coexistence of the CE marking of doors” will closure the first edition of Smart Doors. This session, hosted by the representative of APPLUS, Albert Ger, will discuss about the process for obtaining the CE marking, as well as technical requirements, benefits of the service to be declared by the manufacturer, and considerations of the audit inspection.

Another issue during the talk will be the intervening agents and their respective tasks and responsibilities, the type of documentation that must be required to any supplier to accept an CE mark and the responsibilities that may be applied in case of these not having validity.
